I went to the The Boston Athenæum which has an Edward Gorey Exhibit on display through June 4, 2011.
The exhibit includes pen and ink illustrations, sketches, unpublished drawings, and ephemera. Here are some of my favorites:
- Elegant Enigmas: The Art of Edward Gorey
- Dinner party with The Doubtful Guest
- Edward Gorey cat doll and sketch
- Edward Gorey skeleton children
- Edward Gorey mini book
- Edward Gorey Print
- Tea Party Parrot
- Edward Gorey desolate print
- Edward Gorey winged skeletons
- Letter to Edward Gorey’s Mother
- Letter to Edward Gorey’s Mother
- Amy outside Boston Athenæum
I remember my Mom used to let me stay up long enough to watch the intro to Mystery! on PBS.

Hi Amy, thanks for sharing Gorey art work with us. I know you have posted photos of his art before. Where did you see his work before this exhibit? Do you own any of his work? Did he have any influence on your art? Melody
