Dr. Sketchy’s Anti Art School Benefit for Aliza’s Brain Trust

Went to Dr. Sketchy’s to draw and be entertained by Tom Foolery and his Eggplant Faerie Players along with WHY ARE THOSE GIRLS SO LOUD it’s ‘cos we’re jewish.

Take a look at what transpired, let’s just say unicycle, elephant thong, bumble bee costume, ukelele!

Tuesday’s Dr. Sketchy’s was in support of Aliza’s Brain Trust.

Dr. Sketchy Boston Evening Session with Brandy Wine and Amy Macabre

Sometimes all I need is a little Dr. Sketchy’s to get me inspired. Tonight was a great Tuesday night. Went to Club Cafe to draw for 2 hours. Had a martini with olives and sketched away. Here’s what I came up with. The outfits tonight’s models wore touched my weakness for leopard print and Tim Burton styling. So much fun to get into my drawings. I won free admission to the next Dr. Sketchy’s for my unicorn drawing.

Dr. Sketchy’s Boston

I had so much fun drawing Tess Aquarium and Myss Ripley at Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School Burlesque Life Drawing Session today. Their costumes were outrageous, colorful and creative. They dressed as unicorns, mermaids, Pan, a nymph and an odd little bunny creature.

My mermaid illustration won a contest, here’s my prize:

Elegant Enigmas: The Art of Edward Gorey

I went to the The Boston Athenæum which has an Edward Gorey Exhibit on display through June 4, 2011.

The exhibit includes pen and ink illustrations, sketches, unpublished drawings, and ephemera. Here are some of my favorites:

I remember my Mom used to let me stay up long enough to watch the intro to Mystery! on PBS.

The Beginning

Hello. I’m just starting this website. I will use this site to upload the newest images I create as well as art related activities and events I attend.

I’m currently working on new flower pins/brooches. These brooches will be sold at the MassArt Spring Sale. MassArt’s Spring Sale takes place May 2 — 7 in the Tower Lobby.

Here’s a sneak peek of the flowers I will be selling:
